Village Board Approves Earl Road – Geneva Street Reconstruction and Water Main Replacement Project
SHOREWOOD, IL - Located in the Shorewood Industrial Park near the center of the Village, Earl Road and Geneva Street will undergo roadway improvements and a water main replacement. Originally constructed in the early 1970s, the substandard pavement and the aging ductile iron water main are in poor condition.

Our Village Board remains committed to investing in and updating our aging water infrastructure and approved a $4.3 million contract with D Construction for the project.  Last year, Shorewood was also awarded a $500k Will County American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Grant for the water main portion of our project.

The scope of our project includes pavement reconstruction, new curbs, replacement of 3,300 feet of 12” water main, new street lighting, mixed-use pedestrian path, and other related work.  The work, which is weather-dependent, will begin in mid-July with an aggressive substantial completion by December 2024.

Please remember, public safety is our primary concern.  We ask that you drive slowly and cautiously through the Construction Zone.  We realize that these projects may present brief inconveniences.  Your patience during the construction is greatly appreciated.

Questions or concerns regarding this work should be directed to the Public Works Department at 815-553-2321.
